Having the perfect wedding takes planning, finances, and people willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. No wonder so many unsuspecting brides undergo such a personality transformation once they become engaged. Nervousness, stress, and mishaps can make the most mild mannered lady a sharped tongued bridezilla. If you have the unfortunate pleasure of being her right hand guy or gal here are a few things to keep in mind.
Do as you are told
Of course the bridesmaids dresses are hideous and the paper cups are a bad idea but if you politely make a suggestion and are shot down, simply go with the flow. It is her wedding after all and if a plastic tiara will make it special for her just nod and smile, nod and smile. Hopefully she’ll come to her senses but if not, at least she will be happy.
Run interference
Little stressers can add up and cause huge melt downs. When possible direct the negative traffic your way and try to handle hiccups without bothering the bride. If you do not know the bride’s personal taste on a matter be sure to at least give her the option of handing you the reigns or handling it herself. Even if you have been given carte blanche, checking with the bride to make sure she approves of the results is the best way to avoid wedding day disasters.
Plan Early, Plan well
Last minute decisions and poor planning have ruined many a wedding. If you want to keep bridezilla dormant the best thing to do is to help her begin planning as early as possible and triple check all the details.
